On The Rocks Jeep Club - Sept 6, 2009 Run by Gary & Susan Sheets, Cheryl Wood riding with Roy Lenhardt, Tom Willis, Kevin & Terri-Ann Stoeckle w/Lacey Directions: North on Hwy 131 out of Walcott approximately 15 miles to State Bridge. Go east on Trough Road, approximately 3 miles, just before the road turns south and crosses the railroad tracks and river. The trailhead is on the left, with ample parking on the south side of the tracks. It's about 32 miles to Kremling, heading east on Trough Road from there. Click Photos to Enlarge
Comments from Gary This is a trail that will kick your butt before you know it. On Sunday 9/6 we departed the McDonalds in Idaho Springs around 8:30 am and arrived at the trail head shortly after 10:30. There is plenty of parking there for trailers and airing down, disconnecting, etc... Gary & Susan, Roy & Cheryl, Kevin & Terri Anne were all in TJs running on 35's except Kevin was on 33's (and he did a great job). Tom in his JK Unlimited was on 35s as well. The best part of this trail is the Spur I think called "Trough your Rocker " that branches off to the left nearly 3/4s of the way along the main trail. This spur is less than a mile long but has one tough obstacle after another. It was 4:30 in the afternoon before we stopped for our cookout near the end of the spur. Continued on next page
