The adjustable track bar was purchased from www.rocky-road.com for $99.  After lifting the jeep I noticed that there was a slight wobble in the steering and that the front tires were not centered under the jeep.  It was my hope that between the rear track bar relocation bracket, also with a write up, and the adjustable track bar that the axles would be brought back into alignment.

The Track Bar came with just a few parts that needed to be put together. The main bar, polyurethane boot, nut, zerk fitting, and the cotter pin.

To remove the old track bar a torx head is needed.  Starting on the passenger side of the vehicle remove the  bolt holding the track bar to the axle.  Spraying the bolt and nut with penetrating oil will help loosen the bolt and nut so they can be removed.

On the top side of the track bar mounting, where the track bar mounts to the frame, remove the cotter pin loosen the nut.  Once the nut is loose use a puller to remove the track bar from it’s mounting hole.  We tried using a pickle fork but were not successful due to the amount of movement the track bar had.  The puller is definitely the way to remove this.

With the track bar removed use it to measure the length that is going to be needed to the new adjustable track bar.  Measure the old track bar and add the additional length according to the height of the lift.  With a little over 3.5” I needed about ½” of length.

Mount the end to the axle first.  This will be a really tight fit but should go in with a little influence (i.e. BFH).  Make sure the bar will clear all the suspension items and won’t hit when flexing.

I bounced the jeep up and down a few times and even rolled it back and forth to allow the front axle to center under the vehicle.  Once centered I made the final adjustments to the track bar end and tightened the nut to lock it in place.  Once locked in place slip the end through the mount in the frame and tighten to the proper torque settings.

Lastly grease the swivel and take it on a test drive.
