Meeting at the Rancho Del Rio Campground at 10:00AM.

Roz and I are planning on going up on Friday the 29th and staying at the campground. The campground is located 4 miles east of State Bridge on Colorado River Headwaters Scenic Byway(Eagle County Rt #11). The address is 4199 Trough Road, Bond, CO 80423. Phone # 970-653-4431. Make a day trip or join us Friday and/or Saturday night at the campground.

Guests are welcome - However. please be aware...

Trough Trial is not for beginners. A certain amount of carnage can be expected. That being said, Kevin did a great job with 33's and his 4" lifted TJ the last time we ran it. While some of us 35r's struggled pretty hard.

Description

The Rancho Del Rio Campground is located approximately 1 mile east of Trough Trail, on Trough Rd. (aka County Rd 1, or New Trough Rd.) which runs between State Bridge and No. 9 (into Kremling from I-70).

Quickest Day Trip Route:

From I70: Travel north on 131 (Walcott exit) for approximately 15 miles to State Bridge. Trailhead and Rancho Del Rio Campground are loacated ~3 and 4 miles from State Bridge. Trough Trail trailhed is exactly just before Trough Road crosses the railroad tracks and the river to the southeast, on the way to Kremling.
