BLANCA PEAK trail (with a stop at Chinamans Gulch)

Thought I'd try to put a somewhat 4th of July trip together.  

Looking to leave early Saturday Morning (30th) and shoot to be on Chinaman's by 10:00 AM  (if people want to do Carnage first, we can), when we are done with the trail we'll have a 2 hour dew south drive to Great Sand Dunes Oasis campground.  Great Sand Dunes Oasis

On the 1st (Sunday) we can get our rigs prepped for wheeling, go check out the Great Sand Dunes National Monument & Medano Pass. Medano Pass

Early Monday morning (since it's a long out and back trail) we'll hit Blanca trail.  This trail is much better to run during the week since it is a very narrow trail with very few places to get apposing traffic by. 

Tuesday morning (3rd) will be an easy pack up day, with us making the 4 1/2 hour trip home with possible a stop to soak in one of the Hot Springs and if you have the 4th off you'll have a day to unpack and regroup!!

Dee & I will be staying in 1 of the 4 cabins they have.  Other then RV sites or Tent sites the only housing (motels, etc) would be roughly a 25 min. drive to Alamosa.   The Great Sand Dunes Oasis campground will not be open until March 1st, which at that time you can get your reservations. 

This is a Beautiful and some what technical trail, definitely one for the Bucket list!!
